Buckets of Love, Friendship & Joy

MAKE ME A SPOON!

Did you ever compare your Christian service to silverware?

All silverware is made to serve, but the different pieces serve

in different ways. Forks stab. “This is mine,” they say.

Bits of meat, carrots, pickles, salad and cheese. “This, this

and this are mine.” says the fork. “Everything for me, me, me.

And soon every last morsel on the plate has been pinned by the

spear of the selfish fork. Knives cut. “Too big,” says the knife.

Slice. Cut. Chop. Dice. Everything must change its shape to

satisfy the whim of the knife. Nothing is right as it is. Everything

needs paring down, carving or separating. Spoons serve: cereal,

soup, peas, --all the impossible foods can be handled comfortably

from the smooth bowl of the spoon. Spoons say, “Here, let me help

you. We can manage together.”

MAKE ME A SPOON, LORD!

July Enrichment

Emergency Preparedness
July 1, 2008 at 6:30pm
We all know that we need food storage and water storage and 72 hour kits...
but sometimes it is so hard to find the correct supplies needed and to know how to really store what we need so that it is usable when we do need it in an emergency. At this enrichment we will be talking about just that-how to correctly store your storage. You will also have the opportunity to see the latest in food/water storage supplies and even order those that you need if you are ready.
We will also be talking about cooking with your food storage. Get ready to taste some nummy recipes that you can make using the food in your food storage to help you keep it rotated!
(If you have recipes of this sort that you already use and would like to share with the ward, please email them to saffordsixthrs@gmail.com)

June Enrichment

There will be NO June Enrichment!!!
Spend the time enjoying your families and looking forward to July's activity.

Recipes

We'd like to thank all who participated in May's Enrichment. (A special thanks to the Redford's for use of their home and Brother Redford's BBQ tips and thanks also to Brother Mortensen for his Dutch Oven tips)
We had so much fun exchanging recipes that we decided to keep it going. To find out more about our ward recipe exchange and to contribute your own recipes or try out someone else's click on the link on the right side of this page that says "Recipe Exchange".
